The first thing! It could work, at the very least, I do follow your logic. Sex can be such a fantastic way to learn about and connect with someone, it's one of my favourite things about it. There's a self-discovery joke in there, but I'm serious. So, did you have a plan of attack, or is this just something that you've been thinking about for a while?

I told him I wouldn't presume to know him so much. But sometimes I can't help but see him... falling into bad habits. Hating himself. I can't stand it.

It's not so much the dishonesty, I just think, the fact that you desperately don't want to be seen as weak or pathetic to him of all people especially might be hindering you. Both of you, thinking about it.
