SUMMARY: The memory itself is pretty straightforward: a weakened Vergil, dressed in rags, finds Nico and Nero's garage. He can sense the presence of the Yamato, which is stored in Nero's right arm. He waits until Nico leaves, approaching Nero alone. Nero is a little weirded out, but assumes Vergil is just another vagrant, and offers him some of the food that Kyrie is cooking.
Vergil pays no attention to this. He's here for one thing, and one thing only. As he approaches, the Yamato reacts, and Nero notices. On guard, he asks Vergil if he's a demon. Kyrie calls for him and Nero yells for her to get back inside, and as he does Vergil grabs Nero's arm and throws him against the wall--ripping the arm clean off in the process.
Nero, lying on the ground, blood spurting from where his right arm once was, howls in pain. It means nothing to Vergil, who simply rasps, "I'm taking this back." Nero's severed arm transforms back into the Yamato, a katana. Even with it back in his hands, Vergil can feel his death looming close. Coughing, weakened, he mutters, "I'm running out of time."
Vergil uses the Yamato to cut time and space into a portal, and staggers through it, as Nero gasps for him to wait--and disappears.
