[RAVEN'S HEART GAME - SESSION ONE]

The first thing you hear is the sound of rain faintly hitting the exterior of the house. The soft pitter-patter is almost soothing, in a way, but it’s quickly followed up by rumbling thunder in the distance. You open your eyes, and for a second all you see is a flash of light--at first it seems like it’s lightning, but then you see something. A vision of a man dressed in rags, hunched over, waves of demonic power rolling over him. He howls, and something terrible starts to grow out of him: the bloody roots of a massive tree. An immense wave of panic hits you, and you can’t move, you can’t speak, you can’t breathe--

And then it’s over. It’s over. You’re fine.

The sound of rain returns. (This time it’s definitely soothing, compared to what you just saw.) You’re standing in the foyer of a mansion, a wide open living room in front of you. The door behind you is faintly ajar, leading outside.

Perhaps? I do not know your family symbolism. I just thought it might belong with the rest of the family heirlooms.

I'm not sure my son's severed arm is an heirloom...

[But. Okay fine he'll help, just to see! He bends down to scoops Lahabrea into sitting on his shoulders. That should be tall enough to reach right?]

[Nevermind we're hanging an arm on the swordelier after all. Climbing on Vergil to do this. Even if it doesn't go here at least it's out of reach of wild animals now?]

I have no idea what constitutes heirlooms when your swords and souls are practically interchangeable. Why not an arm?

You can successfully reach the swordelier, but something odd happens as you try to touch it: your hand just... phases through. The images of the swords almost fade away for a moment, flickering. They continue to sway unsteadily, unbalanced, but because you are unable to touch them there's really no way for you to attach the arm.

[He'll hop off Vergil lightly and for real set the arm back down on the mantle.]

Well it had Yamato in it, but being severed and discarded, I would assume it is only dead flesh now. Besides which that sword for Nero isn't a Devil Arm, so we're hardly working on that logic. Apparently he is a gauntlet?

[Oh - no luck with the arm huh. Yeah that's what he thought.]
