The first thing you hear is the sound of rain faintly hitting the exterior of the house. The soft pitter-patter is almost soothing, in a way, but it’s quickly followed up by rumbling thunder in the distance. You open your eyes, and for a second all you see is a flash of light--at first it seems like it’s lightning, but then you see something. A vision of a man dressed in rags, hunched over, waves of demonic power rolling over him. He howls, and something terrible starts to grow out of him: the bloody roots of a massive tree. An immense wave of panic hits you, and you can’t move, you can’t speak, you can’t breathe--

And then it’s over. It’s over. You’re fine.

The sound of rain returns. (This time it’s definitely soothing, compared to what you just saw.) You’re standing in the foyer of a mansion, a wide open living room in front of you. The door behind you is faintly ajar, leading outside.

[Oh no. He can't help smiling. Touching a photo fondly with a glittery hand as he reads the poem.

But otherwise he'll head to door one.]

Door One

[Oh. this room looks nice and cozy. He'll check on Raven.]

Raven looks like he's sound asleep. He looks paler than usual, but that is probably because his hair is pure white--the same color as Nero's, Vergil's, and Dante's--and he's wearing all white clothing.

The frappuccino looks freshly made.

Shut up. Who do you think you're talking to?

[For a moment he considers staying on top of Nightmare, where it's safer, but in the end...does he really care? He knows he's weak without his powers but that's no reason not to fight.

So he leaps off to try to climb one of the roots that Nightmare smashes, try to get onto the throne to attack Urizen himself.]

[It looks... So much. He'll pick it up and slide into the nook next to Raven, taking a sip like a rude grampa.]

How lackadaisical Raven.

You successfully climb one of the roots, running along it like gravity don't mean shit, and you leap towards Urizen/Mundus--but that spinning crystal blocks your attack.

“I KNOW WHO YOU ARE. YOU... ARE NOTHING.”

It tastes amazing.

Raven lets out a soft grumble in his sleep, brow furrowing.

[Urizen, Mundus...who is it? He wants to believe Urizen. He doesn't want to deal with Mundus.

The crystal makes him scoff, but fine. He just attacks it head on then. Powered up Yamato vs depowered Yamato clearly means...depowered Yamato will win, right??]

That's unfortunate for you, you'll die to nothing.

[SOME OF US HAVE THINGS TO DO.]

[Huh. Not what he expected. He'll take another sip then wave the drink by Raven's face.]

I'm going to drink this if you don't wake.

Despite Vergil's logic fail, the crystal does not repel Vergil's attack. It shatters, sending crystal shards everywhere, and the large hulking figure roars. It rises to its feet, more and more spiky tendrils rising from the ground, and then Nightmare shoots it with a laser from its eye. The ensuing explosion knocks it back down onto the throne, leaving it prone and open to an attack.

“YOU INSOLENT, WEAK...!”

Oh, do go on. Do I smell of treachery, like Sparda? How could a mere human defeat you? You know I've heard it all a thousand times.

[I'm you but stronger.

He smirks, absolutely, completely smug, and rushes in to strike at its heart. Or where one should be, anyway.]

Raven's eyelids slowly flutter open, and when he sees Cosmo he jolts in surprise.

"... what are you doing here?"

Your guess is as good as mine. Snooping, mainly.

[He hands the frappucino over]

The fight Urizen/Mundus puts up is pathetic compared to your strike--anything they could do crumbles in comparison. With a roar of defeat, the mass explodes in a massive spray of blood and viscera, coating every inch of you. The tendrils writhe and gradually slither back down to the ground. The golem lifts both arms in triumph and then disappears.

[He smiles at Nightmare before it disappears.]

Good work.

[Nice nice nice, he feels so stylish. The coating of blood is obviously just proof of how awesome he did.

So guess he'll go wander around the rest of the house feeling badass until he's booted out. As far as he's concerned, his real work here is done.]

Raven sits up and takes it, sipping.

"You're not meant to be here... not like this, anyway. Something's gone wrong."

And yes. Clearly me being here is something wrong to some degree. But how do you mean?

[Maybe when you're done styling on Urizen you can hang out and tell him about it.]

[That is in fact exactly what he wants to do. He comes back but looks like it's just Raven now? So time to search!]

[He is in the library probably.]

[At some point Vergil's busting in just absolutely drenched in blood. Some of it is probably a little chunky even. It's...fine. He looks very pleased.]

Finally woke up, I see.
